TEHRAN – The strategy of the Islamic Republic Guards Corps is to promote its “scientific power” and be a source of “Islamic intellectualism”, IRGC Commander Mohammad-Ali Jafari said on Tuesday.

In a ceremony arranged to appoint the new chancellor of Imam Hossein University, Jafari said the IRGC is trying to establish a scholarly and attractive environment for developing research activities in those technological fields which seem more needed.
He also cited extending scientific cooperation with other academic centers as among other priorities of the IRGC.
Jafari appointed Hosseini Tash as Imam Hossein University chancellor. Tash served as the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) deputy secretary for strategic affairs under Ali Larijani
